Founded by Quakers in 1887, this city has some very old houses near Uptown. Three in ten homes are from before 1950, and much of that brick is unreinforced. Nearly nine in ten predate 1980, so age is the normal question here. Named for this city, the 1987 quake cost Uptown older brick buildings, plus many homes and chimneys.
